Eve 2011 |

Eve came to Lourdes with us in 2011 when she was 11 years old. She has epilepsy and severe learning difficulties, and goes to Springwell School in Southampton. Her team of helpers were Kristin, Georgie and Sarah. |

Her parents tell us a little about their experience of Eve joining Group 170: "We were a little unsure initially about the idea of Eve going away on holiday without us, particularly with regards to Eve’s security, until we met the members of the group. We had plenty of meetings and visits from them and they were always approachable. We had a look at the group website and were slightly concerned that the week may be a bit too religious for Eve to understand, however this was not the case. By the time Eve left for her holiday we were excited for her, and happy in the knowledge that she was in safe hands. We were also grateful to have a break ourselves and were able to spend the week doing what we liked, knowing she was well cared for. When Even got back she was a bit grumpy the next day, but generally more happy after that! We have happy memories of the experience, and lots of photos of Eve having a great time! We would definitely recommend to any parent that they consider letting their child go to Lourdes with Group 170." |
