Connor 2011

Connor was 10 when he joined us in 2011. He goes to Icknield School in Andover and is gastrostomy fed. He also needs growth hormone injections every day and although he can’t talk, he lets us know what he does and doesn’t like! His helpers were Joe A, Anna and Eddie.

His Mum, Kate, tells us a bit about her experience of HCPT.

“I was a bit unsure when I first heard about HCPT as I didn’t know much about the organisation and I was apprehensive about Connor flying, as he hadn’t done that before. However, after the home visits and the group meetings, we felt very reassured. I also found the group website very helpful.

When the group set off, we were a bit sad at first, but soon relaxed and the constant texts and computer updates were brilliant.

Connor was extremely tired when he got back, but looked like he really enjoyed himself and I’m sure if he could talk he’d still be talking about it now! I’m really grateful Group 170 gave him this opportunity, and would definitely recommend it to other familes.”
