Nick is 30 and was born in Guernsey, a little island near France. She came to Southampton to go to university and has never left! She is now working as a paediatric registrar at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, so she lives up there during the week and drives a lot. She really enjoys her job as she loves playing with kids and having to opportunity to make them feel better when they are ill.
In her spare time Nick likes to cook, eat and drink wine with friends, and also play games and SingStar! She enjoys growing vegetables in her garden, and relaxing in her parents garden, which is much bigger! She spends far too much internet shopping, especially looking for useful gadgets, games and party things to take to Lourdes.
Before we go to Lourdes, Nick’s job is to liaise with various organisations to get nominations of suitable children who may benefit from a week in Lourdes with Group 170. She also organises sponsorship and all of the group clothing which makes us stand out so well when we are in Lourdes! Once we are out there as well as looking after the medical needs of our group, Nick runs a “general practice” for about ten other groups in our hotel and another nearby.
Nick loves going to Lourdes with HCPT and is even excited by the tedious planning and list making which goes on in the weeks before we travel! She looks forward to it as the best week of the year and particularly enjoys the Trust Mass, games on the meadow, spontaneous sing-songs and bedtime stories.
