Sunday - our journey and first day in Lourdes

We met at St Edmund's Church on the Avenue in Southampton at 4.30 on Easter Sunday Morning - it was a very early start but we were excited to be setting off on our pilgrimmage holiday. On the coach we had croissants and hot cross buns for breakfast and started really getting to know each other as we chatted.

Check in and security at the airport was very quick and we were soon on our aeroplane getting ready for take off. The flight didn't take very long but we managed to squeeze in another breakfast! Before we knew it we had arrive at our hotel in Lourdes and could start unpacking.

The sun was out and shining brightly so we headed off to the meadow to play some games, sing songs and just hang out. When it started to rain we sheltered in a cafe and had delicious hot chocolate and milk shakes.

After dinner we all got ready for bed and had an early night after our VERY early start!
